Lansdowne Team Members

Peter joined Lansdowne Partners in June 2001, he is a member of the Management Committee and is head of the Developed Markets Strategy. Prior to joining Lansdowne, Peter was a Director at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM, previously Mercury Asset Management). Peter joined MLIM in 1993.

Peter is non-executive chairman of Oxford Sciences Innovation plc, a company that invests in, develops and advises spin-out companies established to exploit and commercialise intellectual property developed by Oxford University. Lansdowne Developed Markets Master Fund Limited and Lansdowne Developed Markets Strategic Investment Master Fund Limited hold shares in Oxford Sciences Innovation plc. Peter is also a member of the investment committees of both the Oxford University Endowment fund and Magdalen College Oxford.

Peter has a first class honours degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University.

Andy joined Lansdowne Partners in November 2005 and is a member of the Management Committee and Head of Business Development & Investor Relations. Prior to joining Lansdowne, Andy was the co-founder and COO of Cheiron Capital Management LLP, a global financials long/short hedge fund. Prior to founding Cheiron in 2003, Andy was Head of Research, London at EIM, a global investment management organisation specialising in the allocation of capital to hedge funds.

Andy began his career at J Rothschild Investment Management before moving to GAM (Global Asset Management) in 1996. As a hedge fund analyst in the Multi-Manager Group, Andy was involved in analysing and evaluating hedge funds for the European component of GAM's external hedge fund investments.

Andy holds a BSc in Banking & International Finance from the City University Business School, London.

Jonathon joined Lansdowne Partners in August 2003. Prior to joining Lansdowne, Jonathon was an Assistant Vice President of Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM) managing UK equity high performance pension funds. Jonathon joined MLIM in 1999. He worked for a year in Private Equity specialising in leverage buy-out opportunities and expansion capital within technology companies before joining the UK Specialist Team in 2000. As well as Fund Management responsibilities, Jonathon has had sectoral research responsibilities for the Banking, Speciality Finance, Telecommunications, Life Assurance and Insurance sectors during his career.

Jonathon is a member of the investment committee of the John Lyon's Charity, part of the Harrow School Foundation.

Jonathon has a first class honours degree in Business Administration from the University of Bath and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Daniel joined Lansdowne Partners in April 2006 and in 2018 Daniel joined the Management Committee as a portfolio manager representative.

Prior to joining Lansdowne, Daniel worked for 5 years in the Pan-European telecoms services team at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein which was ranked 1st in the 2005 Extel Survey.

Daniel holds a Master's degree with distinction in Information Technology and a first class honours for his bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering with Mathematics from the University of Nottingham. Daniel is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Samuel joined Lansdowne Partners in April 2015 to launch Lansdowne Princay. Samuel has been deploying capital in European equities since 1993. Prior to joining Lansdowne, Samuel managed an absolute market-neutral European long-short equity portfolio at BlueCrest Capital from 2013 to 2014, managed assets invested in European markets at ALPS (the alternative arm of Nomura) from 2011 to 2013 (absolute market-neutral strategy), and ran a European hedge fund at FrontPoint-Morgan Stanley where he worked from 2005 to 2011.

Samuel started his career in the financial industry at SG Warburg & Co as an insurance analyst in 1991, before moving to Merrill Lynch Asset Management in 1992, where he managed a long short fund from 2001 to his departure in 2005. From 1993 to 2005, Samuel also ran long-only portfolios.

Samuel graduated from the London School of Economics with a MSc in Accounting & Finance, and from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris in France where he studied economics and finance.

Andrew joined Lansdowne Partners in April 2016 as Head of Risk. In 2018 Andrew was appointed Chief Risk Officer and joined the Management Committee. 

Prior to joining Lansdowne Partners Andrew was at CQS, where he was a Risk Manager for 5 years.  Andrew has worked within the Investment Industry since 2002. Prior to joining CQS, Andrew worked at Investec Wealth and Investment, Henderson Global Investors, Invesco Perpetual and Aviva Investors (formerly Morley Fund Management).

Andrew holds a BSc (Hons) in Economics & Econometrics from the University of Nottingham. Andrew is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Financial Risk Manager - Certified by the Global Association of Risk Professionals.

Suzi has been with Lansdowne Partners since its inception in 1998. Suzi was appointed Chief Executive Officer in September 2018 and is Chair of the Management Committee. From 2013 to 2018 Suzi was the Chief Operating Officer at Lansdowne Partners and from 1998 to 2013 Head of Operations. Prior to joining Lansdowne Partners, Suzi worked in the banking sector. From 1991 to 1998 Suzi worked for the London branch of Riyad Bank (one of the largest banks in Saudi Arabia) in several different departments; including Private Clients, Investments and Treasury Operations at an Assistant Manager level. Prior to this, from 1989 to 1991, Suzi worked at Lloyds Bank Plc, a large UK Retail Bank.

Hugh joined the Finance and Compliance Team at Lansdowne Partners in October 2007. Hugh was appointed Chief Compliance Officer in December 2013 and Chief Financial Officer in April 2016 and is a member of the Management Committee. Prior to joining Lansdowne Partners, Hugh was, from 2006 to 2007, an Audit Manager at Ernst & Young London covering statutory, internal control and regulatory assurance engagements for some of Europe’s largest hedge fund and asset management firms. Hugh began his career in 2003 at Morley and Scott, now Menzies LLP (a top-20 UK accountancy firm), where he trained and qualified as a chartered accountant.

Hugh is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and holds a BA (Hons) in Economic and Social History from the University of Bristol.

David joined Lansdowne Partners in December 2000 having worked for over three years as a sell-side equity research analyst covering European Asset Managers. Prior to that he worked with Baillie Gifford & Co, the largest partnership owned money-manager in the UK, as a buy-side analyst. 

David has a Master's Degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Keble College, Oxford where he is an 1870 Fellow.

Per joined Lansdowne Partners in 2014 to start Lansdowne's Global Energy Strategy. Prior to joining Lansdowne, Per was Portfolio Manager at Norges Bank Investment Management where he managed a $1.3bn utilities portfolio. Previously he was the Head of European and Global Utilities Research for UBS Investment Bank where he won multiple industry awards for analysis in the utilities space and was regularly ranked as a top utilities analyst in Europe. Per started his career in 1990 at the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences where he was Head of the Energy Unit. He has also held energy focused positions at McKinsey & Co, the International Energy Agency and Sanford C. Bernstein.


Per holds a PhD in Microeconomics from Chalmers University of Technology, where he also received an MSc in Power Engineering.

Paul joined Lansdowne Partners in March 2004. In 2018, Paul joined the Management Committee as a portfolio manager representative.

Prior to joining Lansdowne Partners Paul was with Merrill Lynch International, where he was Managing Director of Equity Trading. Paul set up and ran the MLX Electronic Equity business for Merrill Lynch. Paul brings over 25 years of experience and expertise in global equity markets.

Paul was part of the core management team at Smith New Court and then at Merrill Lynch. He has traded and managed teams in European, US, Asian and EM equity markets. Paul has spent seven years in New York overseeing international trading for both Smith New Court and Merrill Lynch.
