Steven Heinz
Head of European Strategy

Steven is a co-founder of Lansdowne and a Managing Director of Lansdowne Partners Austria GmbH. From 1995 until he left in June 1998, Steven was a member of the Equity Arbitrage Group at Harvard Management Company where he specialised in analysing and investing in European companies and equities. From 1993 to 1995, Steven was a Vice President in the Business Development Department at Goldman Sachs & Co in New York, where he identified and developed investment opportunities for the firm and its clients. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs & Co., from 1991 Steven was an Associate at McKinsey & Company working on corporate strategy and re-engineering projects. From 1989 to 1991, Steven was a Partner in H&W Partners, which developed and evaluated middle market food, distribution and finance company acquisitions for a private investment group. Prior to joining H&W Partners, Steven was from 1987 an Associate in the Capital Markets Group at Chemical Bank and from 1984 to 1986 a Co-Founder of Shiva Multisystems Corp., and BodyMatrix Inc.

Steven holds a BA in Applied Mathematics, an MS in Industrial Engineering and an MBA in Finance and Strategic Planning from the University of California at Berkeley.

Peter Davies
Co-Head of Developed Markets Strategy

Peter joined Lansdowne in June 2001, is a member of the Management Committee and is jointly responsible for the Developed Markets Strategy. Prior to joining Lansdowne, Peter was a Director at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM, previously Mercury Asset Management). Peter joined MLIM in 1993.

Peter is a member of the investment committee of the Wellcome Trust, an investment committee member at Magdalen College Oxford and a member of the advisory committee of Manocap (a venture capital fund investing in some of the most distressed areas of the world, initially focused in Sierra Leone).

Peter has a first class honours degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University.

Stuart Roden
Co-Head of Developed Markets Strategy

Stuart joined Lansdowne in June 2001, is a member of the Management Committee and is jointly responsible for the Developed Markets Strategy. Prior to joining Lansdowne, Stuart was a Managing Director of Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM).

Stuart started his career in the City in 1984, joining SG Warburg & Co. Stuart is the non-executive chairman of the investment committee of Marylebone Partners LLP, chairman of the Jewish Care investment committee and a member of London School of Economics investment committee. Stuart received a first class honours degree in Economics (BSc) from the London School of Economics in 1984.

William de Winton
Head of Global Financials Strategy

William joined Lansdowne in April 2004 and is a member of the Management Committee. He has over 21 years experience in the equity market. Prior to joining Lansdowne, William was a Managing Director of Morgan Stanley where he was in charge of the European Banks Team. In 2002 and 2003 the Morgan Stanley team finished first in the Institutional Investor Magazine Rankings, 2003 also saw the team placed number 1 across all equity research teams in the Pan-European Extel survey. Prior to Morgan Stanley, William ran the UK Banks team at ABN AMRO. William has broad research experience, before moving to financials, he was a food retail analyst and was rated no.1 in both II and Extel surveys during the mid-1990s.

William holds a degree in Politics and Modern History from Manchester University.

Alex Snow
Chief Executive Officer

Alex Snow joined Lansdowne Partners in September 2013 as Chief Executive Officer and is a member of the Management Committee. Prior to joining Lansdowne, he was Executive Chairman of Investec's UK investment banking division in London since 2012 and also a board member of Investec Bank Plc. Alex founded Evolution Group Plc in 2001, which was later acquired by Investec Plc in 2011.

Alex began his career in investment banking in 1992 at BZW and later, Credit Suisse, where he was involved in the trading, equity sales and advisory business.

Alex holds a MA (Hons) from the University of St. Andrews.
